Giuliano Calza's GCDS Spring/Summer 2024 collection marks a decisive homecoming, and the fashion show, not surprisingly, takes place in the GCDS Headquarters in Milan.
Starting from authenticity, the collection is expressed through the expansion and amplification of an idea, that of returning to the origins.
Giuliano explores the Neapolitan roots, but also the origins of the brand: all with a new awareness, which is essentially the Atelier feeling that has marked the growth of the brand in recent years.

There is a desire to mix denim and leather, but also straw and tweed. There are loafers and white socks, tailored pieces and shirts, long and short ribbed dresses and touches of glamour. All presented with a certain spontaneity, with the lightheartedness of those who appreciate formality and break it up a bit, wearing the garments instinctively.

GCDS Headquarters in Milan becomes the setting for the Spring Summer 2024 fashion show.
The fashion show space is transformed into a set that recalls the atelier presentations that were a must once upon a time. Opting for a more delicate and neutral palette, such as ivory draperies and carpeted floors, the intimate and lounge-like atmosphere allows guests to bask without distraction and appreciate the true essence of the collection.
There is nothing Giuliano loves more than making clothes: objects with meaning and everyday use, companions on life's journey. Punctuating the entire fashion show is the 80s pop music of Pino D'Angiò.

Fall Winter 2023

The household is the place we share with those who matter, and where we keep things that, to us, matter.  
 
This season Giuliano Calza brings the GCDS action home. Literally, in his household, where Kittho the cat reigns supreme. 
It’s Kittho himself who presides over the catwalk, blown up to gigantic proportions thanks to the artistry of Carnevale di Viareggio masters Fratelli Cinquini Scenografie - another celebration of Made in Italy craft and skills.
 
The house is the frame and the inspiration: à la GCDS, but of course. Giuliano Calza explores the obsessions and the proclivities that make him creatively thick: the very bourgeois tweeds of the jackets ladies wear; the pinstripes gentlemen depend on; the worn out leathers of their rebel offsprings; the velvets of sofas and the tufty textures of bath mats. The collection relies on the face off of the sweet and the darkly seductive, with accessories blowing the claws of domestic felines to human proportions, turning them into sensual weapons.

The feeling of intimacy allows for a new outlook on GCDS. The one Kittho probably has, through his yellow eyes.

The historic Palazzo del Ghiaccio becomes the venue for GCDS Fall Winter 23/24 fashion show.
The runway hall, inside the splendid Art Nouveau building, is transformed into a place of togetherness and intimacy.

Spring Summer 2023

Giuliano Calza leads the posse of the GCDS aliens, imagining alien and surreal summer in a surreal disco (Alien Club), and the apt attire to live it: skimpy swimwear, skintight catsuits like glaring second skins, glistening sequins that make surfaces dewy, motocross gear in bright hues, lurex and rib knit aplenty, fluorescence and sparkle.

The feeling of being alien is a common one. Sometimes we feel alien in the places we were once at home. GCDS turns this feeling into a joyous force, embracing everyone’s colors by believing in the idea that being different is an opportunity and that minorities must be protected in order to progress.

"Alien Disco" is the musical composition for the GCDS Spring Summer 2023 fashion show.
Written by Popa and produced by Katoo, it is identified as a Disco cocktail, a journey of Italian Music from the groove of the 70s to the naïf power of the 90s.

Soundtrack

The historic Rotonda della Besana has been transformed into an 'alien disco club' for the GCDS Spring Summer 2023 fashion show.
The location, in the heart of Milan, comes to life again thanks to a pulsating disco ball positioned in the center of the room that, by lighting up, follows the bright and fluorescent colors of the collection on the catwalk.

Fall Winter 2022

Fashion, for GCDS, is, first and foremost, an expression of joy, filled with glitter and sparkle. 
GCDS unveils its new Fall Winter 2022/23 Collections with a fashion show inspired by Dracula, the very epitome of the fearful horror story, turned into a glamorous affair of candy pinks and glowing greens, shiny latex, sexiness and fang heels. The dark story elements are all there, and yet it is a cheerful one, radiant with color, sparkling with glamour and encrusted with stones, curving in hourglass shapes and skintight bodysuits.
